Here's the animatic for the commercial we're shooting in the next week. The idea was to capture the feeling and idea of what Starting Arts does without just coming out and saying it. That'd be an informercial. So instead of telling about what's going on in the animatic, I'm going to talk about the process of making it.

Austin GDC

| | Dawnrunner Productions

It's one thing we always look forward to at Dawnrunner - our annual road trip to Austin, Texas for the Austin Game Developers Conference!  This year was no exception!  Thankfully, unlike last year, we did not almost run out of gas in Palm Desert!  Besides the buzz that is normally surrounding the Austin GDC, this year I must say looked fantastic!  Think Services did an incredible job with the show, not only visually but it's organization as well!  Our crew always looks forward to going to Austin, and it's not just for the a-m-a-z-i-n-g Texas BBQ (although that is definitely a reason as well!).  The drive back was interesting as part of the crew got to experience what they deem "horror script worthy" haunted New Mexico gas stations.  We still need to get the fully story on that, but we'll update accordingly!  Goodbye Austin, until we meet again - and thanks for the ribs!

Gearing up for a Feature!

| | James' Blog

All of us here at Dawnrunner Productions are excited to announce that we're entering into pre-production of a feature film!  There are no details as of yet that we can get into, but what I can tell you is the following:

It will be a horror film, involving some pretty old folk-lore.

It will be shot in association with another production company overseas.

It will be shot in the southern United States.

It will be really - really scary!

Can you feel the excitement!?  We will release more details as they become available.

Singularity Premiere

| | Dawnrunner Productions

The premiere of "Singularity" was as exciting for the crew of Dawnrunner as it was the youth's who participated in the camp!  Red Carpet, Balloons, screaming fans, and of course the starboard section of the ship Singularity in the theater lobby - all added to the buzz!  The short film looked great and was greeted by the audience with applause, laughter, silence so profound at the tense moments you could hear a pin drop, and a standing ovation!  The Press Q&A that followed the viewing was much longer than anyone thought possible, with almost 2 hours of questions from the audience for cast and crew!  Thank you to all involved in making the night so remarkable!  We were also happy to announce, officially, our summer camp for next year and the working title "Fortunes Mine" entering into development!  We look forward to an even bigger cast and crew, and working with Starting Arts on another exciting project!  Until next year, check back for updates!

Dawnrunner in Feature Discussions

| | Dawnrunner Productions

Everyone at Dawnrunner HQ is excited to announce initial talks with a production company in an effort to write and produce a limited release feature film!  There are very few details that we can announce currently, but we will continue to post updates as we are able.  We have a great relationship with the partner production company and we are thrilled with the ideas that have come from the talks!  The script is already being developed by both companies and I have to admit I am anticipating our weekly closed-door meetings very much!  The story is so compelling, it is all I can think about on a day-to-day basis!  This is something that we will be taking our time with, and developing fully.  We are aiming for a 2010 limited release.
